Philosophy

Your body performs best when it functions in neutral postural alignment (shoulders under ears, a slight curve in the back). In this position, there is a minimal amount of stress through your muscles and joints. Your body stays healthier and can more easily repair itself if a tissue does become injured. At Andersonville Physical Therapy, we will restore neutral postural alignment and pain-free movement through education, manual therapy, and movement reeducation.

Education
Our primary role is to give you knowledge about your body so you can take care of it and prevent reinjury. As we evaluate you, we’ll develop a plan together to rehabilitate your problem area and restore normal function. We’ll talk about exactly what is happening in your body and teach you what you can do to maximize your body’s ability to heal itself.

Manual Therapy
We will use a variety of hands-on techniques to release tight tissues, restore normal joint movement and position, and improve tissue healing.

Movement Reprogramming
Your body, like any mechanical system, will be healthier and more efficient if it can perform exactly as it was designed to perform. Muscle imbalance and abnormal movement patterns only increase wear and tear on your tissues. It is imperative that we reprogram your body to learn proper movement patterns and improve mechanics that will reduce stress on your tissues.

At Andersonville Physical Therapy, our therapists work with you to restore proper posture and alignment to relieve pain and prevent future injuries. Our end goal is to help you return to the activities you enjoy.
