Pilates

Pilates is a unique form of exercise training that focuses on developing strength in the core muscles that support your spine, shoulders, and pelvis and improves flexibility in your whole body. Over time, Pilates training lengthens your spine and improves spinal alignment. Pilates training also gives you a better understanding of how your body's musculoskeletal system works. These benefits will increase functional strength, improve posture, and improve your performance in other sports.

Choosing the right Pilates instructor is important. Andersonville Pilates Studio has only STOTT PILATES® certified instructors who have been trained to teach sessions that are safe and effective. In addition, our program is managed by a physical therapist who is also a STOTT PILATES® certified instructor.

What is STOTT PILATES?

STOTT PILATES is a contemporary, anatomically-based approach to Joseph Pilates' original exercise method that caters to people of all ages, all body types, and all fitness abilities. Co-founders of STOTT PILATES, Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine specialists, and fitness professionals, have spent more than a decade refining the STOTT PILATES method of exercise and equipment. This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it safer and more effective. This clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT PILATES training and certification programs.

Mat Pilates Classes

Our mat Pilates class is a one-hour session that works all core muscle groups. It's a challenging workout designed to accomadate a range of fitness levels-from the athlete looking to improve his/her performance to the average person who wants to get stronger and function better in his/her daily life. This class develops core strength and flexibility while improving posture and mind-body awareness. It follows the traditional STOTT PILATES® mat repertoire and uses small props to increase the challenge of your workout.

We recommend performing this workout one to two times a week and pairing it with an equipment Pilates session once a week to achieve the body changes you desire. Class size is limited to 10 people to increase the individual attention to our clients.

Single mat Pilates class: $15
Package of 10 mat Pilates classes: $120

Equipment Pilates Sessions

By appointment.

Using a variety of STOTT PILATES® equipment, including the V2Max, reformer, and chair, our equipment Pilates sessions further develop core stability and mobility; but use greater resistance to develop tone in your arms and legs. These one-hour sessions help you develop and maintain the strength you need for an active lifestyle and to return to the sport of your choice. Equipment Pilates sessions are either private (one client) or semi-private (two clients), so clients receive the personal attention necessary to meet their fitness goals.

We recommend pairing weekly equipment Pilates sessions with mat Pilates classes twice a week, for two to three Pilates workout sessions per week.

Private equipment Pilates sessions:
One-on-one sessions with your Pilates instructor allow for individual programming, so your workout is tailored to your body.

Introductory Package (3 Sessions): $139
Single session: $65
Package of 5: $300
Package of 10: $550

Semi-private equipment Pilates sessions (prices per person):
Grab a friend—this is a more cost-effective way to experience the benefits of an equipment Pilates session.
Single session: $40
Package of 5: $175
Package of 10: $300

If you're interested in semi-private sessions and you don't have a partner, please call the clinic and we'll try to pair you with another client.
