Pat graduated from The University of Illinois at Chicago in 1994 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. She then worked at The University of Illinois Hospital and The University of Chicago Hospital, specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. Her areas of interest and specialty include the rehabilitation of overuse and sports injuries; specifically, musculoskeletal injuries and pain syndromes resulting from postural dysfunction, abnormal joint mechanics, muscle imbalance, and inefficient movement patterns. She recently completed her STOTT PILATES® certification and has incorporated this form of exercise into her clinical practice. In 2006 Pat also became certified in the Graston Technique for soft tissue mobilization.

Monica Kunkler, PT

Monica is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her 19 years of practicing physical therapy include working at specialty centers such as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch, Hinsdale Hospital’s Paulson Center, and Aspen Valley Hospital in Colorado. Monica's areas of expertise include orthopedics (spine, sports medicine, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, and aquatic rehabilitation) and women's health (stress/urge incontinence, pelvic pain, vulvodynia, and pregnancy and postpartum issues).

Her extensive background and training in muscle energy, the McKenzie Method, Mulligan technique, strain-counterstrain, and mobilization have influenced her eclectic manual treatment approach and created a foundation that allows patients to progress to core stabilization and functional exercises.

Michelle Carlevato, PT

Michelle graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northwestern University in 2007. She started her career in the outpatient orthopedic setting at Athletico in Chicago. In this position, she treated a wide variety of post surgical, orthopedic, and sports-medicine patients. Her special interests include the spine and shoulder.

Michelle is very excited to join the staff of APT and looks forward to providing one-on-one care to her patients. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
